Little Seneca Lake Series: Near my work is Black Hill Regional Park and this lake, which is a great place to walk and unwind after a hard day. I love to see the light coming through the trees during all four seasons, and to watch how the wind on the water ripples the reflections of the trees.

Monocacy National Battlefield This area is an undiscovered gem that borders right on the city of Frederick. It includes paths through farm fields, along a river, up and down hills, and through forests, on land where a small but significant Civil War battle took place. In July 1864 Confederate General Jubal Early and 15,000 troops attempted to attack Washington, D.C. from the North. They faced about 6,000 Union soldiers under General Lew Wallace at Monocacy Junction, just south of Frederick. Although the Confederates prevailed that day, they were held up just long enough for Union General Grant to fortify Washington with troops that stopped Early's advance on the capital city. The pictures below depict the Best Farm, the location of the first salvos of artillery fired by Confederate forces in the battle.
"Spring at the Best Farm", 12" x 24", Acrylic, $250
